Runaway With The Spoons - So for anyone who was wondering why I posted a picture of broken Barbie dolls some time ago, this is why - I made spoons out of guilding metal and used the legs from one of the dolls to make handles for my spoons. I think these are pretty cool, as you can take the spoon parts out and swap them with something else, but I think they still have a creepy/ gross factor with them being doll legs. (I also went a bit crazy with the dodge tool in photoshop, thats why the legs appear a bit shimmery)
These are the side panels of the box, and as you can see, some of them don’t match up
These are some pictures of the veneered box I made for Wood Class. It looks okay from a distance, if you go a little closer you can see the gaps and slices in the veneer, but I think it’s okay for a first try at veneering.
Got my end of year results today, and I’m quite happy with the results !:-D nothing below a 2.2 and even those are only a few marks away from a 2.1 or a first YAY!!!!
New pics of my final pieces for uni will be up on Monday, there will be a set of spoons, a ring and my veneered box to post. Have a little peek and let me know what you think
Can’t wait till uni is over for the summer, my hands are in need of some serious TLC!! The skins all chapped, split, with scratches i don’t remember getting, turning up every other day, not to mention i sliced a chunk of skin off my finger today, and have a stylish white bandage now…..just thought i’d share my woes with everyone
